Etihad in UK focus

Etihad Airways has
appointed Four Communications as its public relations agency in the UK,
following a competitive pitch.  Four will support Etihad’s ambitious
growth plans in the UK, and promote the airline’s routes and
award-winning services.

Lis Griffiths, head of Four Communications’ travel practice, said:
“Etihad is one of the most exciting airlines in the industry at the
moment, with ambitious expansion plans across the globe.  Our role will
be to help boost its profile amongst key customer target groups, as well
as supporting its efforts to highlight the attractions of Abu Dhabi as a
destination.”

Iain Burns, vice-president of corporate communications at Etihad, said:
“The UK is an important strategic market for Etihad’s communications
efforts.  Not only is it of growing importance in terms of customer
numbers but it is also a focal point for aviation journalism.  Four were
able to demonstrate that they could help us in both of those areas.”

Etihad Airways was established as the national airline of the United
Arab Emirates in July 2003.  Since its inception Etihad has grown faster
than any other commercial airline in history.  The airline’s
international network stretches from the Middle East to Europe, the
Indian subcontinent, North America, the Far East and Africa. Its main
base is in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
