Delta inks deal for Guelph conf centre

Delta Hotels and Fifty Stone Road West Limited Partnership have announced a long-term agreement that will see the company brand and manage Delta Guelph Hotel and
Conference Centre beginning early December.Located in the 12-hectare University of
Guelph Research Park, Delta Guelph is positioned to be the premier full-service
hotel in this rapidly expanding southern Ontario market.

“Delta Guelph will complement our strong network of hotels in southern Ontario, a
region of the province that is deemed to have significant economic development
potential,” says Hank Stackhouse, president of Delta Hotels.

“Who better to manage this full-service hotel than Delta Hotels, with its solid
experience, strong sales network and proven track record,” says Bob Cameron, general
partner. “By operating only in Canada, Delta possesses an unrivalled knowledge of
the Canadian market.”

Of the hotel’s 148 contemporary guest rooms, all with nine-foot ceilings, expansive
picture windows and all smoke-free, 18 are luxury suites, and 80 offer complete
kitchenettes. Amenities in all rooms include the brand’s signature Delta Sanctuary
bed, flat-panel high-definition LCD televisions and high-speed Internet access. The
luxury executive or junior suite footprint, in either a 400- or 500-square-foot
size, offers a “king” bedroom as well as a spacious living area. A select number are
furnished with a fireplace, glass shower and Jacuzzi tub and offer striking views of
either the university grounds or the city skyline. As well, of the 80 deluxe rooms
with kitchenettes, some access private walkout terraces.

Other hotel features include two innovative environmental design features, a
rainwater collection pipe system and a green, or “living,” roof, more than 14,000
square feet of wireless meeting space (the city’s largest offering), a full-service
business centre, a cardio room and a 120-seat all-day restaurant with lounge, as
well as a seasonal outdoor patio.

The eight meeting rooms, located primarily within a dedicated conference wing,
include the hotel’s largest, a 6,000-square-foot ballroom, and three executive
boardrooms that access private outdoor terraces. All have been built without
obstructions and offer natural lighting.

“Our hotel was built to meet the needs of not only the business traveller but also
local companies looking for larger meeting and banquet venues. This hotel will be
undoubtedly an attractive option for these companies, which have booked their groups
into other cities,” says Cameron. “Delta understands today’s traveller better than
anyone, and knows the business of conferences and catering inside out.”
