Comtec, has announced two appointments to its senior management team. Howard Frost joins as New Business Sales Director and Matt Wakerley as Comtec’s Finance Director. Both positions report directly to Chief Executive, Simon Powell.
The South-Wales based company, whose customers include Thomas Cook and First Choice retail and specialist tour operator brands, has made the appointments it says to strengthen its management team in preparation for plans to further develop its market presence in the U.K. and overseas during 2008 and beyond.
With responsibility for new business development globally, Howard Frost will lead Comtec’s sales and marketing teams. Joining from travel technology supplier Open Destinations, where he held the position of Sales and Marketing Director, he has extensive experience within the travel technology sector having also previously held senior commercial positions with Anite and Travelink (later acquired by Comtec).
Matt Wakerley, a Chartered Accountant having qualified with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, joins Comtec from fast-growing telecom software company Apertio, where he was Finance Director. His background includes senior Finance positions within the technology sector. At Comtec, Matt will head Comtec’s Finance and Human Resources function, replacing Ceri Jones who has left to pursue a career outside of the travel industry.
