Scotland claims first seaplane route

Europe’s first city centre seaplane service has officially taken off from the Clyde in Glasgow.Loch Lomond Seaplanes is running a service from Glasgow to the Argyll town of Oban.

The company has said that further destinations are planned, with the Isles of Skye and Mull likely to be the next additions.

Scotland’s Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson will officially launch the service, with three flights operating a day and tickets costing £149 for a return.
