Fresh on the back of Etihad Airways’ sponsorship of rugby side
Harlequins, the Abu Dhabi based airline has announced three new signings
to its own team - now ‘captained’ by new Country Manager Clive Wratten.He is joined by Stephen Nash in the newly created role of Corporate
Sales Manager, and Canan O’Flynn, Etihad’s new Senior HR Officer.
Wratten will be responsible for Etihad’s UK operations and brings a
wealth of experience gained during 20 years working for airlines and
corporate travel firms.
He joins Etihad from HRG (Hogg Robinson Group) where he was head of the
international business group. Prior to that, Wratten held corporate
sales and country management positions in the UK market with Gulf Air,
Qantas Airways and British Airways.
Wratten said: “Etihad’s remarkable growth needs talented and dynamic
staff to support it and I’m confident that Stephen and Canan will
strengthen an already successful team.”
Corporate Sales Manager Stephen Nash fills a new role created to
underline Etihad’s commitment to corporate business. Nash joins from
Chelsea Travel Management where he spent four years as Sales Manager.
Nash also has a strong airline background following roles at BA (City
Flyer), Gulf Air and Air Europe.
Nash commented: “Having worked at both a travel management company and
in airlines, I can offer a new perspective to the sales team here as I
know what both sides are looking for and how to develop a productive
Canan O’Flynn, Senior HR Officer, joins the UK team from Etihad Airways’
head office in Abu Dhabi and will be overseeing recruitment and the
welfare of Etihad’s 50-strong staff across its operations at Heathrow,
Manchester and the Hammersmith office.
“The biggest challenge from an HR perspective is keeping up with
Etihad’s phenomenal growth,” O’Flynn commented.
Etihad was recently named ‘Middle East’s Leading Airline,’ ‘Middle East’s Leading First Class Airline’ and ‘Middle East’s Leading Airline Website’ at the inaugural regional World Travel Awards, Middle East & Africa ceremony, that took place at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
