Utell hires new marketing boss

Utell Hotels & Resorts has appointed Diana Banks as Senior Vice-President Sales and Marketing, to head up its sales, marketing and e-commerce teams worldwide.Banks will lead marketing communications campaigns on behalf of the Utell portfolio of properties and develop opportunities, strategic alliances and partnerships for Utell Hotels & Resorts. 

Part of Banks’ remit will also include top-of-mind awareness for the Utell Collections, grouping Luxury, Boutique, Golf and Spa hotels, which were launched in March 2007 as part of the Utell segmentation strategy with Utell Business and Utell Meeting Collections soon to follow. 

Based in London and reporting to Utell’s President, Peter Fitzgerald, Banks brings more than 30 years of hotel industry experience with notable expertise in hotel sales, marketing and operations.  Most recently, Banks served as director of sales and marketing for the Langham Hotel, London where she spearheaded the drive to develop the hotel’s business strategy under the Langham branding.  Banks’ career also includes the launch of The Grove in Hertfordshire, as well as senior management posts at Millennium & Copthorne Hotels plc, Edwardian Hotels and Rank Hotels.
