Crerar Hotels buys Eght Acres Hotel

Crerar Hotels has bought the Eight Acres Hotel & Leisure Club in Elgin, Morayshire from independent hoteliers, Garry and Roy Dinnes, for an undisclosed sum.

The 53-bedroom hotel has meeting and event facilities for up to 250 people, a restaurant and café-bar plus a thriving 800+ member leisure club.

Paddy Crerar, Chief Executive, Crerar Hotels said: “The Eight Acres is a very good hotel which has been very well run by the Dinnes family.  We plan to build on this quality offering by adding a further 25 bedrooms and enhancing the excellent leisure club.  This is good news for the local economy as well; once we have carried out this work, it will mean at least a further 12 jobs at Eight Acres.

Managing Director of the Eight Acres, Garry Dinnes, commented: “Roy and I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of developing Eight Acres over the past eight years.  However now is the right time to step out of Eight Acres and focus on our other business interests.

“We are delighted that the upgrading and development will continue under Crerar hotels, a well respected operator with a commitment to quality and we wish them every success.”
