La Quinta rolls out ad campaign

La Quinta Inns & Suites’ advertising campaign “Wake Up on the Bright Side” features humorous ads that highlight how a stay at La Quinta is the silver lining to the challenges and stresses associated with business and travel. Now thru September 14, 2007, the hotel chain invites travelers to visit www.wakeuponthebrightside.com and show their optimism by creating a video using La Quinta’s video clips and adding “bright side” captions. The creator of the video receiving the most votes wins a five-day vacation including airfare, hotel and spending money. In addition, the winning video will also be featured on La Quinta’s website.

“Today, people encounter more stress than ever when traveling,” said Julie Cary, executive vice president of marketing for La Quinta. “Travelers are seeking solutions to relieve their stress and looking for joy in the simple things. We want to provide an outlet so they can creatively express their own experiences and have fun doing it.”

Creating a video is as easy as selecting two video scenes and writing a caption for each. The first caption should be a sticky situation and the second the “bright side” of that situation. Add music, save and you’re done. Send a link of your video to family and friends and have them vote during September 15-30. Everyone who votes or creates a video is entered to win a daily instant winner prize of a free night at any La Quinta hotel.

Also available on La Quinta’s website is a downloadable cell phone ringtone featuring the music from the La Quinta commercials and eight customizable wake up calls. The ringtone and wake up calls are free.
