New appointment for Hilton

Hilton Hotels has appointed Joelle Hellinckx as its first ever Director of Resourcing for Europe.

In this new role Hellinckx will be tasked to meet the challenge of responding to the needs of the Hilton Family of Brands aggressive expansion plans in Europe, with particular focus on recruiting and developing team members within the Spanish, Italian, German, Turkish and Russian markets.

Tea Colaianni, Hilton’s Vice President for Human Resources in Europe commented: “With her combination of HR experience and knowledge of Hilton, Joelle is ideally suited to this new position. With the increasing challenges of the business her role is key in ensuring that we have the right staff in place to meet and fulfil the demands of our expansion plans.”

Hellinckx added: ” I very much look forward to meeting the challenges of this role, particularly at such an exciting and dynamic time for Hilton.”

With responsibility for more than 11,000 team members within the region, Hellinckx will be focussing on the recruitment and development of management positions. The company also plans to recruit a supporting team of Senior Resourcing Managers to look after specific areas within Europe.

This promotion sees Hellinckx move from her current role as Director of HR for Brussels Hilton & Conrad Hotels. She began her career with Hilton at the Hilton Brussels hotel in 1984, initially within the operation side of the business, before moving across to HR where she has held several roles.

Hilton has recently opened hotels in Venice and Toledo and is set to open a new property in Vilamoura in July. Further hotels will open in Helsinki, Madrid, Mallorca, Palermo, Matera, Bari and Moscow later this year.
