Carlson agrees Pune Kharadi deal

Carlson Hotels has confirmed plans to develop a new Radisson Hotel in Pune Kharadi. Owned by Calista Properties the Radisson Hotel Pune Kharadi is scheduled to open by August 2008.

Paul Kirwin, president, Carlson Hotels Worldwide - Asia Pacific, said, “We see great potential in India given the increasing demand from both domestic and international travellers. Pune is an important industrial centre and the Radisson will provide an excellent option for the increasing number of travellers visiting the city for meetings and conventions.”

Located in the outskirts of the city of Pune, within an easy reach of both the international and domestic airports, the Radisson Hotel Pune Kharadi is next to Magarpatta City. Large commercial IT Parks, and leading retail malls are within a kilometre’s radius of the hotel. The shopping complexes, theatres, restaurants and designer boutiques on MG Road are also in close proximity. The hotel is close to tourist attractions, including the Osho International Commune, Aga Khan Palace, Patelshwar Cave Temples, Parvati Hill and Pashan Lake.

The 156-room hotel will offer amenities such as meeting rooms, a garden restaurant, lobby lounge bar, poolside terrace bar, 24-hour coffee shop, banquet halls, gymnasium and spa. For superior comfort, the meeting room will have an area of more than 5,000 square-feet with an attached garden of 7,200 square-feet to provide privacy and tranquillity.
