UK visitors boom to Namibia

British visitor room-nights in Namibia in the
first four months of this year have rocketed to almost 27,000 - 9,400
more than the same period in 2006.The latest UK visitor room-night figures from Namibia Tourism are a
clear sign of the potential growth this country has for British
travellers.

Debbie Walker, Sales & Marketing Manager, Namibia Tourism in London,
said the results also reflect the huge UK industry support following the
launch of Air Namibia’s direct flights to the country.

“We’ve seen huge support from British operators and agents,” she said
“and initiatives such as our new online training programme are really
helping to get the knowledge of this wonderful country out in the UK
trade. We know Namibia offers a major business opportunity for UK agents
and operators as travellers also learn and hear more about Namibia.”
