Columbia Spa unveils new treatment range

This August the Columbia Beach Resort launches a new marine-based spa range from the French company Phytomer in their highly regarded Columbia Spa.  The Resort is established as a five star luxury hideaway in an enviable position on the south west coast of Cyprus in Pissouri Bay.  The addition of the Phytomer range is a natural compliment to the success of Molton Brown spa treatments that the hotel exclusively features on the island.

Spa Manager Victoria Gladunova explains, “We have chosen Phytomer to compliment the treatment range we already offer our clients.  There is an increasing demand for body sculpting and contouring treatments and we have selected Phytomer as best suited to our clientele and the stunning location of the hotel on the shores of the Mediterranean.”

“The Phytomer treatments are designed for both men and women.”  Victoria continues, “We particularly like the way treatments combine the benefits of natural active marine ingredients with a unique technique.”

The Columbia Spa will feature seven treatments from Phytomer including the Oceanic Detox which uses seaweed to stimulate the body’s metabolism to the excitingly named Champagne of the Sea that helps to de-stress and relieve tension. These natural Sea Essential Body Treatments aim to restore vitality, help relaxation, and help body image by firming and contouring.  In addition they aid the reduction of cellulite and sooth aching limbs with varicose veins.

Founded in 1971 in St Malo Phytomer has gained a reputation for its marine-based cosmetics and products.  Harnessing trace elements, minerals and vitamins from the sea Phytomer looks to these naturally occurring sources to differentiate their approach to healthy skin and body equilibrium. They highlight the similarities between blood plasma and seawater in composition and how seaweed and human skin possess similar defence, protection and regeneration mechanisms.  Their success is supported by the rationale that their products are perfectly absorbed and tolerated by the skin.

The 1,050sq m spa boasts five treatment rooms, a spa bath, plunge pool, sauna and steam room.  Clients can relax and recline in the Temple Lounge after treatments furnished with its low beds and mountains of pillows.  A Cocoon seating area has white drapes for discreet consultations before therapies commence.  The main hall which houses spa reception and retail area is dominated by a heated swimming pool which joins the outdoor lagoon pool.

For a more active break the Columbia Spa offers squash and tennis courts, a well-equipped gym and an aerobics hall with regular workout sessions and yoga classes, many of which are held on the landscaped lawns outside.  A feature of Pissouri Bay is its clean warm waters and reliable mid-strength winds making near perfect conditions to learn water-sports such as kite-surfing and wind-surfing, available on the beach by the hotel.  Regular complimentary transport takes golf enthusiasts to three championship courses in the vicinity.
