Spirit expands South American network

Spirit Airlines has launched a non-stop service between its Fort Lauderdale hub and San Pedro Sula, Honduras.Service from Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport initially will be offered three times weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flights from La Mesa International Airport in Honduras will be offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Honduras is the third Central American country served by Spirit Airlines, joining the carrier’s Guatemala and Costa Rica destinations. It is the fifth country in Latin America and the 35th destination overall.

In addition to non-stop service from its Fort Lauderdale hub, Spirit also offers connecting service to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, from its domestic network. Spirit serves all routes with its fleet of Airbus aircraft, the youngest in the Americas.
