Malaysian Airlines hopes to settle the compensation claim from Airbus over delays to the delivery of six A380 aircraft by the end of the year. “There will be compensation. We are still talking to them,” MAS managing director Idris Jala told the official Bernama news agency on Monday.

“Probably before year-end we will ... settle the compensation issue with Airbus,” he said.

Bernama said Idris told reporters this at a MAS charity dinner over the weekend.

MAS has firm orders for six A380s.
