Online PR delivery takes off in Dubai

Nakheel’s online Media Centre
has received overwhelming interest since its launch on 1st May at the Arabian Travel Market.  Nakheel attracts worldwide interest and its press office is among one of busiest in the Gulf. The site has enhanced Nakheel’s public relations delivery, allowing for 24-hour provision of press releases, background materials, images and video to journalists from all over the world - in both English and Arabic.

Since its launch, the site has seen over 550 registrations from 58 countries around the world - from areas as diverse as the GCC, the US, the Far East and Australasia. Even more impressive are the download figures, which were over 2,000 by the first month of operation and now stand at 5,167.

Nakheel’s Media Centre is one of the first in the region to be specifically developed as a dedicated site for media by a specialist public relations firm.  The site was developed with Nakheel by Four Communications, one of the region’s fastest-growing and most innovative PR and design firms.

Charlie Taylor, PR and Communications Manager at Nakheel, said:

“The world is clearly interested in what’s happening here in Dubai, and in my time here I have witnessed first hand the incredible international media interest generated by projects such as The Palm Jumeirah and The World.

“When you add to this Dubai’s flourishing local media, you see that one of our main challenges has traditionally been to cater to the huge demand we receive daily for information and images from media around the world. Nakheelmediacentre.com ensures that media are able to instantly access information and images and this has increased our productivity significantly. During the recent announcement regarding the QE2 locating to The Palm Jumeirah, the media centre really came into its own in ensuring the global media had access to the facts and resources they needed.”

The site hosts press releases, backgrounder documents, images and videos related to each of Nakheel’s projects - from well-known landmarks such as The Palm Jumeirah and The World to residential and retail developments such as International City and Ibn Battuta Mall.  It is open to all bona-fide journalists at www.nakheelmediacentre.com, and is available in both English and Arabic.

Nakheel was recently named Middle East’s Leading Tourist Property Development Company at the World Travel Awards 2007 Middle East and Africa ceremony.
