EU may probe Finnish aid to Ryanair

The European Commission said it will investigate possible illegal state aid given by Finland to budget airline Ryanair and two Finnish firms associated with the country’s Tampere Pirkkala airport.
The European Union’s top regulator said it “questioned the compatibility of the arrangement concluded with Ryanair, whereby the airline pays an ‘all inclusive’ charge differing from the terms offered to other airlines at the airport,” according to Reuters news agency.

It was also looking into operating aid granted to Finnish companies Finavia and Airpro for “transforming and operating” the airport’s Terminal 2.
