Movenpick boutique hotel opens in Bodrum

The Mövenpick Resort Bodrum opened its doors this July. The 5-star boutique hotel, comprising 92 rooms, is situated in a top location and boasts a stylish Mediterranean design. Alongside the Mövenpick Hotel Istanbul, it is the Swiss premium hotel group’s second establishment in Turkey.

The Mövenpick Resort Bodrum, situated in the hill-top location of Bitez, offers breathtaking views of Gumbet Bay and the Aegean Sea. The hotel is only a ten-minute drive from the center of Bodrum and can be reached in 30 minutes from the Milas-Bodrum airport. The hotel is also the ideal starting point for visits to the region’s historical points of interest (including the Tomb of King Mausolus and the Castle of St. Peter) as well as to the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology.
The 92 generous rooms including nine suites, decorated in Mediterranean style using light wood colors with a keen eye for detail, ensure a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Light streams in through the window with Spanish shutters between the bathroom and living area, while guests can watch spectacular sunsets from their private balcony or terrace. In addition, all rooms are equipped with public wireless LAN internet access and a safe with ample room for a laptop.
The hotel complex boasts two outdoor swimming pools and one indoor pool, and a Wellness Center, where guests can relax in the Turkish bath (hammam) and sauna, or choose from among the wide range of massages offered in four treatment rooms. The Fitness Center is equipped with state-of-the-art cardio equipment.
“With this new hotel, emphasis has been clearly placed on individuality and privacy, creating an ultimate chill-out atmosphere in close proximity to the extensive range of retail outlets and the pulsating nightlife of Bodrum,” explains Frank Reichenbach, Regional Manager Turkey. “In addition, the hotel’s female General Manager Serpil Yildiz, is a deft hand at combining local customs with true Swiss hospitality.”
Mediterranean specialties complimented by the typical ingredients of the region’s cuisine can be enjoyed at the hotel’s restaurant, which naturally also offers Mövenpick’s renowned breakfast buffet and signature Sunday brunch. The hotel bar serves refreshing drinks, Mövenpick’s ever-popular ice cream, as well as snacks in between meals.
For banquets and conferences, the hotel offers three rooms equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology for up to 100 people, as well as a Business Center. A luxurious sailing yacht catering for up to 18 passengers can also be chartered for special occasions.
“The Mövenpick Resort Bodrum is a true gem, which ideally compliments our portfolio in Turkey,” says Stefan Flury, Senior Vice President Europe Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. “The hotel will delight both our Turkish clientele and guests from abroad.”
