Worldspan signs US Helicopter deal

Worldspan is signing a new multi-year participating carrier agreement with US Helicopter, through which Worldspan provides US Helicopter with marketing and distribution of its full content to points of sale globally, along with industry-leading e-ticketing and interline e-ticketing (IET) services.

As part of the agreement, US Helicopter will upgrade its participation to Worldspan Airline SourceSM for optimum GDS connectivity and performance. US Helicopter’s comprehensive schedules, availability and fares, as well as e-ticketing and IET capabilities became available to Worldspan customers worldwide in March, in conjunction with the carrier’s launch as an ARC participating airline. Also activated earlier this year were Worldspan e-ticketing services for itineraries that involve connecting flights between US Helicopter’s eight-minute airport shuttle and its interline partners, Delta Air Lines and Continental Airlines.

“Our partnership with Worldspan allows us to provide travel buyers worldwide with efficient access to our inventory, and the highest levels of security, accuracy and reliability for every transaction,” said Jerry Murphy, chief executive officer and president of US Helicopter. “Extending our offerings through Worldspan enables US Helicopter to be a state-of-the-art distributor and travel service provider for our growing customer base.”

In 2006, US Helicopter established a long-term agreement with Worldspan for comprehensive hosting and related IT solutions. US Helicopter relies on Worldspan MeridianSM airline hosting technologies for daily operations, including reservation and inventory management, flight operations, global fares and pricing requirements, and more. The carrier also uses Worldspan’s proprietary Internet Booking Engine (IBE) for hosted airlines, and related technologies to ensure online travel buyers at www.flyush.com have the latest shopping, booking, transaction processing and e-ticketing services.

“Worldspan is pleased to expand its relationship with US Helicopter and to add them to our group of valued customers,” said Kevin Ficco, vice president - Airline Distribution and Business Development for Worldspan. “Worldspan’s distribution reach connects US Helicopter to more businesses and travel agencies around the world, offering valuable new content to our subscribers and added revenue opportunities for US Helicopter.”
