Sarkozy unveils Paris boarding satellite

27th Jun 2007

Nicolas Sarkozy,
President of the Republic will inaugurate the new boarding satellite at
Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Pierre Graff, Chief Executive Officer of Aeroports de Paris declared: “This boarding satellite is the
largest in France and it reinforces the performances of the 1st European
hub. It can accommodate up to 26 contact aircraft, including 6 A380
aircraft simultaneously and it is dedicated to Skyteam alliance.
Aeroports de Paris invested 645 million euros (tax excluded)

In this facility with a welcoming and relaxing environment, everything
is designed to facilitate the passengers’ circuit and to offer them a
high quality airport experience.

—The new satellite is linked to terminal 2E by an entirely automated
metro. The travel time takes only 45 seconds.

—High-tech, convivial and welcoming, it offers 4, 600 sqm of shops,
bars and restaurants in the international “duty free” area,

—A lot of services are available and adapted to all categories of
passengers: rest areas, work areas, Wi-Fi connections, children play
areas, nurseries, etc.

—Light, color and space are the main features of this new satellite.

This new facility marks a new and important stage in the hub development
implemented at Paris-Charles de Gaulle by Air France-KLM and its allies:

—The airport capacity is increased by 8.5 million passengers per year
thus enhancing the quality of the services offered to passengers as well
as its competitiveness;

—The accommodation of jumbo aircraft such as the A380 is done in
optimum conditions for both airlines and passengers with a sensible
reduction of transfer times.

Designed from the onset to accommodate new generation large aircraft
such as the Airbus A380, the satellite has 6 aircraft parking stands
equipped with triple boarding bridges to embark or disembark passengers

With nearly 3, 200 sqm of shops and 1, 400 sqm of bars and restaurants,
“La Galerie Parisienne” will offer passengers a totally new experience
in terms of retail offer.

Fashion, gastronomy, perfumes and cosmetics, children… all the
Parisian charm will be offered in 21 boutiques with some reaching over
600 sqm.

For the first time in France, Armani will be represented in an airport.
