Qantas rolls out carbon offset scheme

Qantas and Jetstar passengers will be able to contribute to environmental projects under a voluntary carbon offset scheme that is being introduced later this year, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.The program will allow passengers to top-up their fares to compensate for the greenhouse gases produced by their flights.

Qantas spokesman Rob Kella says no decision has been made about how to spend the extra money, but there are several options.
