SAS steps up Stavanger, Bergen services

The SAS Group airline, is increasing its services from Aberdeen to Stavanger and Bergen. From 29 October 2007 the airline will introduce an additional return service operating Monday to Thursday, between Aberdeen and Stavanger. The introduction of four additional return services is a direct response to the overwhelming demand for further links between the oil and gas industries of Scotland and Western Norway.

The new Stavanger services will take the number of flights between Aberdeen and Stavanger up to 30 per week and means that Wider¿e will be able to offer the first and last flight of the day from Aberdeen.

The airline will also introduce an additional service from Bergen to Aberdeen on Monday mornings departing Bergen each Monday at 06:30.

Lars-Ove Filipson, General Manager United Kingdom & Ireland, Scandinavian Airlines said:

“The new services from Aberdeen to Stavanger are a direct response to passenger requests for an early morning departure to Stavanger coupled with the option of a late evening return. The new service enables customers travelling from Aberdeen to spend a full working day in Stavanger and return to Aberdeen, without the additional hassle or expense of having to spend the night.

We are delighted to be representing the SAS Group airline Wider¿e in the UK market. These new services will bring advantages to both business and leisure travellers from around the UK, providing efficient business links to the oil and gas industry of Stavanger and Bergen and the surrounding area as well as opening up the picturesque fjords to holiday makers.”
