Homewood brand tops 200 openings

Homewood Suites by Hilton is celebrating the brand’s 200th hotel
opening in Fort Collins, Colo. by hosting a brand-wide celebration themed
‘More than 200 places to call My Homewood’ for more than 5,000 hotel staff
and nearly 25,000 guests. The celebration will take place during the
upscale brand?s signature Welcome Home Reception.

Homewood Suites has experienced a strong growth period since opening its
first hotel in 1989, and views the opening of the 200th property as a major
achievement for the brand as a leader in the extended stay hotel
(http://www.homewoodsuites.com) market.

“This opening is at the core of the tremendous growth that Homewood Suites
has experienced in recent years and solidifies its position as a leader in
the extended stay industry,” remarked Rebecca Wyatt, senior vice president
of brand management. “Homewood Suites has opened 25 percent of its entire
collection of hotels in the last two years alone, and this is just the
beginning, with the 200th outlining the foundation for an additional 120
properties that are currently in various stages of the development
pipeline.”

The brand-wide celebration has been eagerly anticipated as a major source
of pride and achievement throughout the brand on both the corporate and
individual property level.  Approximately 25 thousand Homewood Suites
guests are expected to take part in the celebration of this landmark event
and look toward the brand’s future goal of opening 40 hotels annually over
the next 5 years.

Soon after opening Fort Collins, Colo., Homewood Suites plans to open yet
another landmark hotel with its first property in Mexico this summer,
located in Torreon, approximately 277 kilometers west of Saltillo in the
state of Coahulia. This hotel symbolizes the international expansion of
Homewood Suites, following the brand’s foray into Canada with developments
in Ontario and Quebec. Homewood Suites plans to support these signature
openings with several core brand-wide initiatives launched in 2007,
including Suite Selection - a unique online interactive room reservation
tool, and Mobile Learning - whereby the upscale brand will now be training
employees through specially designed programs on video iPods in every
property.
