Tourism Trademark signs up Dutch University

Tourism Trademark, the global network of tourism marketing and communications specialists, has agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding with the prestigious NHTV, University of Applied Sciences in Breda (the Netherlands).Through this agreement, from January 2008, members of Tourism Trademark, all leading professionals in their respective markets, will offer international work experience placements to complete and compliment the training of the tourism professionals of tomorrow.

NHTV has been running specialist degree courses in Tourism Management for over 40 years and has earned a reputation for quality amongst academics and tourism practitioners around the world.

Prior to this agreement, Marcel Baltus, Tourism Trademark’s representative in the Netherlands has been a guest lecturer as part of the NHTV four year bachelor programme in International Tourism Management and Consultancy and sits as examiner. Students from this course have already benefited from placements at Tourism Trademark’s offices in Holland and Spain.

After drafting the terms of the agreement with members of tourism trademark in the network’s recent meeting in Paris, Tessy Verhoeven, International Placement Coordinator for the ITMC course said “a global network of tourism marketing agencies, including two companies with whom we have already successfully placed students represents a rare opportunity to secure placements for our students in companies we know will provide unrivalled experience and the practical application of our course material.”

According to Judy McCluskey, Tourism Trademark member for the UK, “NHTV and Tourism Trademark have much in common. We share a global vision, a passion for excellence and total commitment to the professionalism of the world tourism industry.”
The agreement with Tourism Trademark will provide NHTV with a supply of placements for their students as well as input from and international network of recognised tourism communications experts as part of their course.
