Homewood brand back homeless charity

Homewood Suites guests who are HHonors members can now donate their guest
reward points which go towards a cash donation to the National Coalition
for the Homeless, through the Giving Back Program. The program, launched in February 2006, celebrates a
select collection of philanthropic groups that many Hilton Family brands
are currently working with. Every 10,000 points equals a $25 contribution.

Homewood Suites is a partner of the National Coalition for the Homeless, a
national advocacy organization working to end homelessness by focusing on
the areas of housing, economic, and health-care justice, as well as civil
and voting rights.  In addition to a $25,000 contribution, Homewood Suites
donates its furniture, refrigerators, bedding and bath goods to shelters as
it upgrades guest rooms throughout the 200-property chain.  Additionally,
Homewood Suites, in partnership with the National Coalition for the
Homeless, held a three-day drive at the brand’s Memphis headquarters in
July 2006 to collect new and/or gently used duffel bags, totes, and
backpacks.  The duffel bag drive ended in a city-wide donation to local
homeless shelters.

“Through Homewood Suites’ partnership with the National Coalition for the
Homeless, we hope to encourage our guests to support their charitable
work,” said Rebecca Wyatt, vice president of brand management, Homewood
Suites by Hilton.  “Homewood is considered by many of our guests to be a
home away from home and we feel that all people are entitled to a home-like
atmosphere in their lives.  The National Coalition for the Homeless strives
to provide those less fortunate with various provisions so they can have a
place to call home as well.”
