Cancun Tourism unveils online campus

With over 3,300 graduates since 2005, the Cancun Tourism Institute (CTI) has witnessed great success with their online approach and expects to experience further growth with their unique, newly improved online program.
“With all of the new hotel developments and recent improvements to our destination, we recognized the need to revitalize our CTI program as well,” said Arturo Escaip Manzur, executive director of the Cancun Convention and Visitors Bureau.

“We believe our redesigned program will not only provide agents with the latest information on Cancun but will also help agents sell a new and refreshed destination.”

Established by the Cancun Convention and Visitors Bureau, CTI is a complete study guide and loyalty program that gives agents the tools and resources necessary to keep clients up-to-date with the latest information on this ever evolving and continually developing top leisure getaway. After completing the comprehensive program consisting of a study course, an optional familiarization trip and a loyalty program, agents have a thorough understanding of Cancun and Puerto Morelos and what the area can offer its guests, benefiting both agents and travelers alike.

The 2007 online campus has been fully reviewed and redesigned and now offers new videos, better streaming of video media, new virtual tour hotel overviews, easier course navigation, faster downloading and an entirely rewritten and improved study guide. The study guide itself boasts additional new features, including a smaller file size, search functions, a useful index for each chapter and loads of new photography. The campus is open to learners 24 hours a day, seven days a week at http://www.cancun-cti.com .

CTI will continue to offer its two courses, CTI 101, the study course, and CTI 102, the field trip program. By registering for the at-home course, participants are given basic facts, advanced profit potential and secrets to selling Cancun and Puerto Morelos. Both the online tutorial and printed study guide offer newly updated facts and statistics as well as quizzes, maps and important contact information.

For CTI 101 graduates looking for a more hands-on experience, CTI 102 offers classroom-style education within the destination. CTI 102 students enjoy specialized trips that focus on topics such as weddings, golf and Mayan culture among others. After completing on-site seminars, agents utilize a three-day excursion to immerse themselves in the destination, giving them real-life experience to bring to their clients back home. The cost to attend (land portion) is now only $89 for course graduates who sign-up by July 31, 2007.

Graduates of the CTI program enjoy a variety of benefits: consumer leads, bulletin board and chat opportunities, a quarterly newsletter, a loyalty program that offers points and rewards based on recorded package price sales and a color diploma.
