Fairmont signs up new airline partners

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced it has
formed marketing alliances with several new international airline
carriers including United Airlines, Lufthansa Airlines, and Cathay
Pacific. Effective immediately, guests staying at Fairmont’s collection
of distinctive hotels and one-of-kind resorts around the globe will have
the opportunity to collect air miles in the respective carriers’
frequent flyer programs.

With the Fairmont portfolio poised for significant international growth,
the new marketing relationships are an excellent complement to the
brand’s existing roster of frequent flyer program affiliations, a group
that includes other airline partners such as American Airlines, Air
Canada, Emirates and Seattle-based Alaska Airlines.

“Fairmont’s extremely excited to be founding relationships with many of
the principal players in the aviation industry,” said Brian Richardson,
Fairmont’s Vice President, Brand Marketing & Communications. “Within the
last year, the Fairmont brand has established a greater international
identity with the emergence of hotels in destinations such as Germany,
Scotland, Monte Carlo, and Mexico’s Mayan Riviera and we continue to
grow in new parts of the world.  The new airline partners support our
vision of becoming a global leader in the hotel marketplace and provide
our guests with a multitude of mileage options during their stay.”

Guests on qualifying stays will now have the opportunity to earn
frequent flyer miles in United Airlines’ Mileage Plus program, Lufthansa
Airlines’ “Miles and More” program, or Cathay Pacific’s Asia Miles
program. Qualifying stays are subject to hotel availability at published
rack, corporate or package rates.
