Clarendon Serviced Apartments has been instrumental in helping to develop the ‘serviced apartment quality grading’ system and serviced accommodation category in conjunction with QIT (Quality in Tourism) and VisitBritain. This is a landmark development, as the rating system is the first of its kind not only within the UK but the rest of Europe and worldwide.
Presently, Clarendon is one of only three serviced apartment providers within the UK to have had its serviced apartment’s independently quality assessed by QIT. Under the new grading system Clarendon is delighted to have been awarded 4* ratings at its Central and South West London locations.
Assessment criteria is comprehensive and incorporates aspects such as levels of cleanliness, quality of furniture, furnishings and fixtures and space, comfort and ease of use. Aside to this and ranked highly by QIT and accommodation bookers is ‘management efficiency’, which relates to the provision and quality of pre-arrival guest information, welcome and arrival procedure and in-unit guest information.
Peter Morgan, Head of Marketing for Clarendon Serviced Apartments comments, ‘until now, the serviced apartment industry has been self regulating, with some providers choosing to use their own system of classification to rank their serviced apartments. This creates inconsistencies in standards as opinions differ greatly as do peoples’ expectations. The quality grading system increases transparency across the sector and facilitates guests, bookers and those responsible for managing or procuring the services of serviced apartment suppliers, by allowing more informed decisions to be made.
Peter added ‘with an ever expanding portfolio of serviced apartments in London and recent additions in the City, Clarendon welcomes the independent grading system as a catalyst to maintaining standards and as a driver for future growth of this increasingly popular choice of accommodation amongst business travellers.
