Candlewood Suites has announced that its first hotel
outside the U.S. is scheduled to open next month in downtown Montréal, Quebec,
Canada.Formerly a high-rise apartment building, the 147-room Candlewood Suites
Montréal-Centre Ville is one of several properties the brand expects to develop in
Canada over the next few years. In addition to another Candlewood Suites hotel
approved for Toronto, Ontario, the brand is also targeting key markets in the
provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, along with further development in Ontario
and Quebec.

“Demand growth for extended-stay hotels continues to exceed the rate of supply
growth in countries outside of the U.S., including Canada,” said Gina LaBarre, vice
president, Brand Management, Candlewood Suites. “With less than 40 branded
extended-stay hotels in Canada, the market has been served to-date by ‘all-suite’
hotels or corporate apartment hotels, which don’t necessarily meet the needs of
extended-stay guests seeking ‘just-like-home’ hotel accommodations,” she added.  “We
are thrilled to be downtown Montréal’s first midscale extended-stay hotel to offer
these amenities.”

 

One of the largest Candlewood Suites properties in the brand’s pipeline of 147
hotels, the Montréal property is conveniently located on the east side of the city’s
downtown area, on the border of historic Old Montréal and Chinatown. Each guest
suite features a full kitchen, large workspace with a comfortable desk chair and
overhead lighting, free high-speed Internet access, free local calls, an overstuffed
recliner, as well as DVD and CD players. 

 

Guests at downtown Montréal’s first midscale extended-stay hotel can take advantage
of Candlewood Suites’ just-like-home complimentary amenities, including an on-site
24-hour guest laundry, fitness center, and Lending Library, where movies and music
are available for use with guestroom DVD and CD players.

 

The 24-hour Candlewood Cupboard features a variety of value-priced beverages,
breakfast items, healthy snacks, frozen entrees and other sundries which can be
purchased on the honor system at any time.

 

The Candlewood Suites Montréal-Centre Ville, located at 191 René-Lévesque Blvd. E.,
Montréal is owned by Aquilini Group Properties, Ltd., and managed by Pacrim
Hospitality Services Inc, under a license agreement with a company in the
InterContinental Hotels Group.
