Russian market following a 20-year franchise agreement with Stroytek Ltd
to open a Holiday Inn in Chelyabinsk in early 2008.The 160-room hotel will be the first internationally branded property to
open in Russia’s most industrially developed city, set in the southern
part of the Ural Mountains, and the second Holiday Inn within Russia
situated outside Moscow and St Petersburg.

riverside view as well as a range of recreational facilities which
include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, beauty salon and two fitness
centres. Furthermore, the hotel is located next door the to
Chelyabinsk’s most successful Spa and Wellbeing centre, also owned by
Stroytek.
Michael Cooper, IHG’s Vice President Strategic Development Russia and
Ukraine, said: “Given the ongoing strength of the Russian economy, we
are delighted that the IHG pipeline continues to develop within this
rapidly growing market. With just four Holiday Inns currently open in
Russia, the signing of our 11th hotel is especially significant as it
symbolises IHG’s ongoing commitment to the destination.”
Udaeva Aleftina, commenting on behalf of Stroytek, said: “Holiday Inn is
one of the world’s most recognised hotel brands and we are confident
that its reputation for service, comfort and value will ensure our
venture is well received by both business and leisure visitors to
Chelyabinsk. As such, we are proud to be partnering with IHG on this
project and look forward to introducing a contemporary hotel experience
to the city’s visitors.”
