SynXis connects to Travelocity

SynXis has successfully completed a direct connection to Travelocity, eliminating the need for properties using the RedX Distribution Management System to manage rates through a separate extranet. The Channel Connect interface to Travelocity also includes Travelocity Business(R) for corporate travelers, lastminute.com, a leader in European online travel and ZUJI, a leader in Asia-Pacific online travel. Channel Connect integrates RedX directly to third party travel sites such as Travelocity and enables hotels to better differentiate their products by providing information such as detailed stay policies and child pricing directly to retail points of sales.

“The collaboration between Travelocity and SynXis is a great example of the many synergies we have between the business units at Sabre Holdings,” commented Sam Gilliland, president and CEO of Sabre Holdings. “SynXis continues to be a strategic driver to Sabre’s commitment to selling more room nights for hotels than any other company in the travel industry, and provides a valuable supply to our GDS and consumer travel sites. We remain committed to making the investments that continue to grow SynXis’ business and provide value to hotel suppliers.”

SynXis and Travelocity share hundreds of mutual customers who can all benefit from the time saved managing rates directly in RedX and the extra revenue generated from the ability to control pricing. The unique Derived Rate feature in RedX gives property managers the ability to set one base rate and make any other rate a derivative of the base. This enables managers to manage just one rate and have the confidence that all other rates will be adjusted based on their revenue strategy.

“Third party travel sites are an important part of our revenue strategy,” said Robert Van Bremen, Assistant Director of Revenue Management & Distribution at Affinia Hotels, who has 10 properties using Channel Connect. “With the direct connection to Travelocity we can easily manage our rates in RedX across all properties as well as ensure rate parity has been maintained throughout. The amount of hours we’ve eliminated by not managing a separate extranet has been a huge savings to us and (the Channel Connect) has generated nearly $400,000 in revenue for our group in a very short amount of time.”

The Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, NV was one of the first to use the Channel Connect with Travelocity. Sydney Smith, Director of Hotel Revenue comments, “We have seen immediate results using the direct connection between RedX and Travelocity. It is much simpler to use and has reduced the data entry error factor to zero, thus saving labor costs as well. I now have the confidence that my rates and inventory are current and in synch with the rest of my property.”

“Our powerful integration technology continues to be a differentiator for SynXis,” commented Scott Alvis, President and General Manager of SynXis. “Travelocity is one of the top producing sites for our customers and this direct connection answers the need for technology that makes revenue management easier for the properties.”

This synergy between SynXis and Travelocity further demonstrates Sabre’s commitment to selling more room nights for hotels than any other company in the travel industry.
