Alitalia will decide next week whether to write down the value of its fleet of aging aircraft in a step that could cost EUR400 million and complicate its privatization, the Financial Times reports Thursday without quoting sources. A write down in the value of the fleet will cut shareholders equity and may produce much lower offers from the three bidders still in the privatization race than the Italian government would like, the paper says.
