Minister opens Malaysian pavilion at ATM

Malaysian Tourism Minister YBM Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor
has inaugurated the Malaysian pavilion at the Arabian
Travel Market.The Minister is in Dubai with a 150 strong high-profile
delegation from Malaysia that includes representatives from 51 hotels, 28
travel & tour operators, 8 state governments, Malaysia Airlines, Malaysia
Airport Berhad, Menara KL and the Aquaria Kuala Lumpur.

“Malaysia has been ranked as the number one destination for Middle East
tourists, as reflected in last year’s 22.2 per cent surge or a total of
186,821 guests from the Middle East. Drawing on our success, we have come
up with an intensified ‘Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2007’ campaign to meet a
target of 300,000 visitors this year. Our participation at the Arabian
Travel Market is in line with our strategy to promote what Malaysia has to
offer whilst establishing new alliances with key industry players in the
region,” said YBM Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Minister of
Tourism, Malaysia.

At the Arabian Travel Market, visitors to the Malaysian pavilion will
witness a visual extravaganza as it highlights its 50th Independence Day
with a showcase themed ‘One Golden Celebration’. In addition, its stand AS
712 in Hall 7 will also feature the country’s tourism attractions with
luxurious tours aimed to please the Middle East market with a choice of
eco-tourism, medical & health tourism, spa, honeymoon and Malaysia My
Second Home packages inclusive of impeccable services and products.
