Austrian pushing boarding pass offers

From May onwards, Austrian passengers will be able to present the tear-off stub from their used boarding pass, together with a form of photographic ID, to claim a range of special offers and entry to cultural institutions - either at hugely reduced prices or free of charge. The first offers to feature in the new scheme are at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, the exclusive DO&CO Restaurant at Stephansplatz in Vienna and Chicago’s Julius Meinl Café.

From 1 May to 31 December 2007, art lovers can get into Vienna’s Kunsthistorisches Museum (KHM) and all its subsidiary museums free. Under a groundbreaking new agreement with the KHM, Austrian passengers can now admire the world«s largest Brueghel collection, Arcimboldo’s “Summer” or Vermeer«s “The Artists Studio” completely free of charge. But that’s by no means all: passengers can also choose to use their Austrian boarding pass to visit the Wagenburg Museum of Imperial Carriages at Schönbrunn Palace, the Schatzkammer (Imperial Treasury) at the Hofburg, the Lipizzaner Museum or the Museum of Ethnology in Vienna, which celebrates its reopening after renovation on May 9th with a Benin-exhibition! www.khm.at

The top international restaurant of Austrian’s exclusive catering partner DO&CO at Vienna’s Stephansplatz is also offering a very special new treat for customers with the right boarding pass in their pocket. Make a table reservation between 1 May and 30 September 2007, and you will be served a welcome drink free of charge upon presentation of your boarding pass upon arrival. www.doco.at
