OctopusTravel signs Asia deal

Accommodation website OctopusTravel.com has signed a global partnership with Singapore Airliness. OctopusTravel will be providing Singapore Airlines with worldwide hotels and apartments through forty of the airline’s websites around the world, ensuring Singapore Airlines’ online customers will have a broad choice in travel products through tailored solutions.

Each of the websites will be co-branded and designed according to the requirements of Singapore Airlines existing local markets, including customized languages and payment in local currencies. OctopusTravel will provide the airline’s customers with dedicated call centres around the world to help them with hotel/ground service booking queries as well as for sales by telephone.

Ernst Hemmer, OctopusTravel Regional Director for Asia Pacific, commented:
“We are thrilled about Singapore Airlines’ choice of OctopusTravel as its online partner, and the decision to broaden their online offering illustrates that airlines recognise that they must deliver a range of products beyond flights to attract visitors into their online direct channel, and to offer one-stop shopping convenience to customers. This new partnership also clearly emphasizes that established network airlines recognize the tremendous growth opportunities in global online travel, and in Asia Pacific in particular, and are now prepared technologically as well as in content to take advantage of those opportunities.
With Singapore Airlines’ wide choice in affordable airfares, and OctopusTravel’s worldwide land content and easy to use booking system, we not only provide Singapore Airlines customers more options for their travel needs, but also more convenience in booking their hotels and vacations online,” he added.
