Aeroflot sells first network e-ticket

The Aeroflot airlines has sold its first e-ticket through a foreign agent network that uses Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo and Apollo mass distribution systems. Aeroflot e-tickets can now be bought through any IATA settlement/clearing system in nearly 50 countries. At present six foreign partners, such as KLM, Aeromexico, Continental, Delta, Korean Air and Northwest, are selling Aeroflot interline e-tickets. E-tickets are already accepted on 28 Aeroflot routes, including five domestic routes (to Volgograd, Omsk, Anapa, Perm and Kaliningrad).

By the year-end fifty more airports are to join e-ticket servicing. Large-scale e-ticket sales are to be launched in Russia from June 2007.
