Worldwide Group sign on Comtec

The Worldwide Group is planning to implement Comtec’s Travelink tour operator sales and management system.
The operator, a member of the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO), recently received a Gold Award from travel magazine Wanderlust magazine as its “Top Tour Operator”  2007. Sister companies within group include a number of specialist brands operating activity and adventure-based travel including Wildlife Worldwide, Dive Worldwide, Equine Adventures, Walks Worldwide, Families Worldwide and Schools Worldwide.

Implementing Comtec Travelink will enable the company to automate a number of existing manual booking and administration systems. The system will also have the scope to introduce online quotation and bookings via the company’s websites and facilitate marketing activity through its integrated CRM module.

Chris Breen, Managing Director of The Worldwide Group commented “Maximising business efficiency and enhancing our customer service is key to the continued profitable growth of our company. Implementing Travelink is a key milestone in the development of our business and will establish a proven technical platform that will support the future growth of our company.”
Travelink’s new shopping-basket based sales system will enable The Worldwide Group’s sales consultants to efficiently create tailor-made travel packages by seamlessly searching, costing and booking published, consolidated, low-cost and charter flights, along with accommodation components from own contracts and third-party suppliers. The company will use the system to manage enquiries and bookings for its range of tours, including The Eclipse 2008 and journeys to The North Pole.
Vicki Tittley, Head Of Sales, at Comtec added “We’re delighted to be partnering with The Worldwide Group who are a leading operator in the tailor-made activity and adventure travel sector. Our Travelink System is now deployed with over 75, mainly niche and specialist, tour operators. We’re excited about the demand for Travelink from growing operators looking to replace outdated manual or legacy systems with a modern, browser based, sales and management tool”.
