Having significantly contributed to the burgeoning tourism industry on the East Coast, Le Meridien Al Aqah will be exhibiting at the Fujairah stand at ATM 2007 for the 5th year in a row.
The hotel’s successes over the past year, which include winning the World Travel Award for Middle East’s Leading Beach Resort for the 2nd year running, hosting the region’s first Lifeguard Tournament and achieving record occupancy figures, along with Al Aqah’s long-lasting ties the Fujairah Tourism Board (FTB) and its chairman, HH Sheikh Saeed Al Sharqi, will be highlighted at this year’s event.
‘With year-round sunshine, the virgin coastline and the Indian Ocean as a marine playground, the opportunities in Fujairah are endless and the Emirate has attracted growing interest from international hotel brands in recent years. As the pioneering hotel on the East Coast, Le Meridien Al Aqah remains committed to ensuring continued demand for Destination Fujairah as highlighted by our decision to once again partner with the FTB at ATM 2007,’ said Patrick Antaki, general manager, Le Meridien Al Aqah.
“This world-class event is a wonderful opportunity to for us to maintain and further develop our existing relationships by sharing our latest news with travel trade professionals, key tour operators as well as regional and international media. In addition to this, we will be using ATM 2007 as a platform to highlight the importance of water safety and our efforts to educate the local community about ways to address this issues and ensure the safety of all those who utilize pools and beaches in the UAE,”
Antaki comments come after a recent press conference held to announce the launch of the
2nd UAE National Lifeguard Championships 2007, scheduled to take place on Sunday, 20 May 2007 at the world-renowned beach resort.
The championship, now in its second year, is open to teams and individual participants and aims to recognize these valuable, often lifesaving professionals whilst concurrently boosting awareness of water safety across the region.
Along with its corporate social responsibility initiatives, the hotel continues to enhance its offering with new additions and refurbishments.
Swaad, its popular Indian restaurant, has been redecorated to reflect the cuisine, with the director of food and beverage flying down to India for a few weeks to specially select each and every item, ranging from the crockery and cutlery to the art on the walls.
Spa Al Aqah is being continually enhanced to satisfy guests and cater to their demands. The Journey of the Month day spa offers, which were introduced recently, are designed to welcome and nurture the residents of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and neighboring Emirates. These journeys are a complete experience in the hotel, starting from treatments to healthy meals to swimming and relaxing in its beautiful swimming pool or by the ocean.
The hotel has also added crazy golf and a glass-bottomed boat, the first of its kind in the UAE, to its comprehensive list of leisure facilities.
