nas air launches Riyadh - Gizan route

nas air, the first budget carrier in the Kingdom, announced the addition of the Riyadh - Gizan route to its ever expanding domestic network, as part of the nas air’s operational plan to cover four domestic destinations within the first two months of operation in the Kingdom. The new route will cater to the demand on this route due to the fact that more than 30% of the inhabitants work outside Gizan, in addition to the increasing tourism to the area.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) records in the Kingdom shows that total passenger traffic at King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport in Gizan has witnessed an impressive increase in the number of travelers, more than 815,000 in 2005. Gizan Airport is expected to maintain a 5% growth rate in the coming years. GACA’s statistics revealed that passengers flying from Riyadh to Gizan exceeded 185,000 at the end of 2005. This takes a significant toll on Gizan’s tourism.

Nas Air Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Peter Griffiths stated “The services provided by the budget carrier offers travelers more options with its competitive prices that cater to all segments of society. The increase in flights to Gizan and the increase in visitors will have a positive effect on the social and economic life of the city”.

“nas air is providing an unmatchable service in the domestic aviation market, with it’s low cost travel solutions, which are a blend of high quality, safety and low prices” He added.

Prices are limited at SR 320 one way trip to Gizan. Passengers traveling from Gizan to Riyadh can benefit from the special launch fare promotion of SR 49 if they make their reservations from April 11 untill April 15 and travel between April 21st until end of May. After the promotional period is over, the tickets cost range will start at SR 139 to SR 320 one way. This is a significant decrease in the usual market prices which reaches up to 85%.
