Etihad expands interline ticketing

Etihad Airways continues to enhance its customer travel experience with the expansion of the airline’s interline electronic-ticketing services. The Abu Dhabi-based airline now has an interline agreement with 18 international carriers which allows passengers to book and fly with Etihad and the partner airlines using one e-ticket.

Peter Baumgartner, Etihad’s executive vice president marketing and product, said: ‘Our interline agreements significantly enhance our customer’s travel experience by offering flights to hundreds of additional global destinations and enabling them to book and organise their entire journey at the same time.’

Among the 18 international carriers which Etihad has interline agreements are British Airways, Continental Airlines, Singapore Airlines and South African Airways alongside the most recent additions, Gulf Air and Oman Air.

Etihad introduced e-ticketing in July 2006 and now offers the service on 90 percent of the airline’s international network, including Dublin which was added in March.

Members of Etihad’s innovative loyalty programme, Etihad Guest, can also use the e-ticketing service when booking reward flight tickets.
