Under the auspices of H.E. Said bin Hamdoon Al Harthy, Oman Air’s Chairman and Mr. Ziad bin Karim Al-Haremi Chief Executive Officer, Oman Air will hold its annual sales and marketing conference at Shangri-La Barr Al-Jissah in Muscat on, 2nd April, 2007. The two-day conference under the slogan “Expect More’ is being attended by Oman Air senior officials, as well as regional managers, sales managers and airport managers.
The Conference commences with a speech delivered by HE the Chairman, followed by the Chief Executive Officer, who will indicate important accomplishments materialized over the past year, in addition to key projects and strategies planned for year 2007.
Mr. Abdulrazaq bin juma Al Raisi, Senior Manager Sales said, ‘That this annual conference aims to focus on upgrading the level of Oman Air’s performance in terms of sales and services provided to our valued customers who we aspire to be distinctive. Outstation performances will be reviewed and important methods and possible measures would be offered, in order to overcome any problems that might emerge in any station in order to honor our commitment to our customers.
He also added, ‘The national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman is exerting all efforts to make this Annual Conference a success in order to achieve the anticipated ambitious goals. This conference is a continuation of previous ones which assisted in achieving the desired objectives, wherein Oman Air accomplished success on all spheres of activities, thus carving a niche among the leading airlines in the region. The substantial increase in passengers in the last five years is a clear indication of the efficiency of operational processes and the effectiveness of the company’s policies in this regard’.
He concluded saying, ‘for the first time, this conference is attended by Airport Managers as well. This is due to Management’s concern, to adopt latest mechanisms toward developing airport services. The distinguished stations in terms of sales and airport services will be honored. The second day of the conference will include workshops for outstations managers with heads and officials of the company’s various departments.”
Corporate Communications and Media Department stated that the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman continues to establish standards in the aviation industry, which is fast becoming competitive. They confirmed the importance of the conference, as it provided an opportunity to determine Oman Air’s marketing plans for 2007. Choosing Muscat, Oman’s capital, for this Conference also plays a significant role in keeping with the National Carrier’s keenness and the Sultanate’s plans for promoting Oman as a tourist destination. This conference provides an opportunity for the Sales Managers to observe the most recent tourist projects and facilitates promoting them in their related stations.
A spokesman of the Corporate Communications & Media Department stated that a press conference will be held by Oman Air’s Chief Executive Officer, wherein he would disclose the most important plans and strategies adopted by the Company for the forthcoming period, especially after raising the company’s capital to 51 million Omani Riyals. This will be in the presence of a number of representatives from local, regional and global media.
Oman Air, the national carrier of Oman which is using Muscat as a base for its operations, has succeeded over the past three years, to achieve considerable financial results. Its net profits in the last year amounted to RO 2.983 million compared with RO 1,006 million in 2005. Operational capacity had increased by 2% as it carried 1,226 Million passengers during 2006 with an increase of 91,000 numbers or 8% compared with 2005. The seat factor has maintained its good rate at 76%. These figures are indicative of Oman Air’s well planned strategies which ensures its steady growth.
