Czech Airlines is now offering flights between Prague and the city of Poprad in Northern Slovakia near the Vysoké Tatry Mountains. The airline will be providing this service by extending its current flights from Prague to Slia?, Slovakia. The CSA flights will leave from Prague to Slia? and continue to Poprad for the entire duration of the airline’s summer schedule. The summer schedule will run from March 25 through October 27, 2007. The Poprad flights will operate daily, except for Saturdays.

The flights will leave Prague at 9:45 p.m. every day (except Saturday) and arrive in Slia? after a 70 minute flight and then take off for Poprad at 11:20 p.m., arriving in Poprad shortly before midnight. Each flight will then return to Prague the following morning, departing from Poprad at 4:00 a.m., with a stopover in Slia? before 5:00 a.m. and arriving in Prague at 6:15 a.m. CSA will be using one of its ATR 42 aircraft, which seats 46 passengers, for this service.

CSA expects these regular flights to become especially popular with business travellers from the region located to the south of the Tatry Mountains who will be able to use this service to connect to flights from Prague. The early morning arrival in Prague will allow for convenient transfers to CSA flights to Amsterdam, Brussels, Warsaw, Munich, Hamburg, Paris, Hannover, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Zurich, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Berlin, New York, Montreal and Toronto.

In addition to the new service to Poprad, the summer schedule of Czech Airlines will also offer a new connection to the US city of Atlanta, which will be code-shared with Delta Air Lines. CSA will also be increasing the frequency of its other flights for the summer. This will especially include a number of high demand destinations in Western and Southern Europe. Compared to 2006, the airline will be offering addition flights to such destinations as Moscow, Madrid, Amsterdam, Brussels and Ko?ice. Moscow, Madrid and Brussels will each get a third daily CSA flight and Amsterdam and Ko?ice will each get a fourth daily flight. The new Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft will be used for most of these connections.
