Opodo the pan-European online travel company today announces details of its new UK management team as it finalises the process to become a more decentralised entity with a stronger local presence. To date the company has been structured around a centralised model supported by local sales and marketing offices in key countries.
The new structure will further Opodo’s objective to offer a bespoke service in each market, ensuring that the sites and products are tailored to meet the needs of the local consumer.
The UK management team under the direction of Ignacio Martos, CEO will consist of Caroline Noble, UK Director; Alex Gisbert, Commercial Director and Paul Treanor, Head of Marketing. These positions were effective as of 1 March 2007. The appointment of Nicholas Simmons as Finance Director of the Opodo Group, reporting to the CEO, was also confirmed.
Commenting on the new team and direction for Opodo, Ignacio Martos, CEO said “2007 is an important year for us and I am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead. Opodo can confirm that 57 people have been made redundant in the UK office as a result of moving to a decentralised structure.
