Rezidor expands Radisson portfolio

The Rezidor Hotel Group has opened its 19th Radisson SAS hotel in Norway: The 172- room hotel in Fredrikstad is part of the “new breed"generation of Radisson SAS - a contemporary hotel with modern design and unique service concepts.At the same time, the Radisson SAS Airport Hotel Oslo inaugurated 153 additional rooms. Both openings increase the total number of new Rezidor-rooms opened in 2007 to 1.827. Between 2007 and 2009, Rezidor will add 20.000 rooms to its portfolio.

The new Radisson SAS Hotel, Fredrikstad features 172 rooms and suites in two themes (Ocean and Urban), black granite floors and fiber optic lighting, and Norway’s longest open fire place which measures 4,2 metres. In addition, the property comprises state-of-the-art meeting facilities for up to 400 people, several syndicate rooms and six exclusive board rooms. The adjacent “Blue Cave”, a former movie theatre, seats up to 440 people in auditorium style and 300 people for banquet. At the end of March 2007, a spectacular Sky Bar will open on the hotel’s top floor. With the opening of the Radisson SAS Hotel, Fredrikstad, Rezidor’s upcoming restaurant concept “Filini” is being introduced in Scandinavia. “Filini” offers fresh Mediterranean food in an Italian inspired ambiance - including contemporary light- and sound-design.

The Radisson SAS Airport Hotel Oslo is with a total of 503 rooms the second largest hotel in Norway, right after the Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel, Oslo. A new building with six floors comprises 153 new rooms, 4 new meeting rooms (increasing the total number of meeting rooms to 60) and 1 new banquet hall for 360 people. The hotel which is located adjacent to the Gardermoen Airport terminal, now can offer conference & meeting facilities as well as accommodation for up to 1.000 guests at the same time.
