Aer Lingus averts strike action

Aer Lingus has said that there will now not be industrial action on Monday March 5. after progress was made in last-ditch talks, unions said. The walkout, which was due to start at midnight on Sunday, is on hold while Ireland’s Labour Court investigates the dispute.

SIPTU, the union that represents about 1,800 Aer Lingus staff is accusing the airline of undermining pay and conditions through new contracts issued under the airline’s cost-cutting plans.
