SriLankan smooths Colombo passage

SriLankan Airlines has introduced a comprehensive new service named
‘Sathkara’ to assist passengers through Colombo’s Bandaranaike
International Airport.Passengers are greeted on arrival at the airport by a charming ground
stewardess, who provides all assistance through airport formalities such
as Immigration, Customs, and Baggage Collection, and walks the passenger
all the way out of the terminal or to the aircraft.

The service is available for all passengers travelling on SriLankan -
arriving, departing, and in transit through BIA, international
passengers awaiting connections on SriLankan’s domestic service
SriLankan Air Taxi, or arriving on Air Taxi for connecting flights.

Nigel O’Shea, Head of Service Delivery at SriLankan, said: “Sathkara has
already proven to be very popular among corporate groups and the tourism
industry. Leading business houses are using Sathkara to take care of
their important overseas visitors and clients, and already two
prestigious travel groups have signed agreements with us to take care of
their regular customers.”

and clients to SriLankan Airlines, knowing that they will be well taken
care of through Sathkara,” said Mr. O’Shea. “Travellers only need to
make themselves known to the ground stewardess holding a sign with their
names, and the rest is taken care of.”

Transit Passengers travelling in Business Class, including those using
the Air Taxi, are also hosted at SriLankan’s luxurious Serendib Business
Class Lounge until their flight times. The world-class lounge has gained
a reputation for providing the best transit experience for up-market
passengers, with its wide range of services which are on par with the
finest business class lounges in Asia. The lounge also provides a
panoramic view of the airport.

The charge for the Sathkara service is made on an individual basis and
corporate rates are also available.
