Almond opens new St Lucia resort

This month sees the opening of Almond Smugglers Cove on St Lucia, Almond Resorts’ second property on the island, making it the largest hotel group in the Eastern Caribbean. The four-star premium all-inclusive Almond Smugglers Cove, situated on Cap Estate on the North West corner of the island, will open on 23 February 2007, and will feature 360 newly refurbished rooms set across a 60-acre estate amongst lush tropical gardens.

Smugglers Cove has its own stretch of sandy beach and is situated on a secluded bay, just eight miles from the capital city Castries. The hotel will offer extensive facilities for singles, couples and families wanting to experience Almond Resorts’ pioneering ‘For You. About You’ concept in a brand new setting.

Hotel facilities will include five swimming pools, a fitness centre, seven tennis courts, a squash court, a range of Free motorised and non-motorised water sports with free tuition, Free golf on the nearby 18 hole championship St Lucia Golf & Country Club Course. Guests can indulge at the five bars including a swim-up pool bar, all serving premium brand drinks and cocktails, all part of the all-inclusive package. Spa treatments are also available at a locally payable additional cost.

 

Four restaurants will offer a choice of a la carte cuisine and fine wines including a Continental style restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a seafood restaurant and an adults-only traditional St Lucian Creole restaurant. One of St Lucia’s finest gourmet restaurants, The Great House, is also located adjacent to the main Smugglers Cove Resort in a grand plantation house, giving guests the opportunity to dine outside of the resort without having to travel and Almond Resorts’ guests will receive a discounted rate.

Families staying at Almond Smugglers Cove will be able to take advantage of the children’s club, which is offered free as part of the all-inclusive package and offers children different programmes aimed at children aged from newborn infants up to 16 years old.  For the evenings, if parents need a break from their children, a private babysitting service is available for a locally payable fee. 

 

Guests will also have access to the facilities at its existing sister hotel Almond Morgan Bay just 15 minutes drive away, including all of the a la carte restaurants and bars; as part of the “Dine Around” programme at no additional charge.
