Silverjet inaugural flight takes off

Silverjet is commencing daily operations with its maiden flight from London Luton to New York Newark. The new airline will challenge the transatlantic market by offering customers a private jet experience - including 30 minute check-in at Silverjet’s exclusive private terminal - from £999 return.

Silverjet is pleased to report that seat sales are comfortably ahead of management’s expectations.

“At the time of our IPO, we made a commitment to our investors to launch Silverjet within nine months - we are immensely proud to have achieved this.

“With the creation of Silverjet, we make a simple commitment to our customers - to constantly challenge the airline status quo, to do things differently from the competition and to quickly react to their feedback.


“By offering our customers a fantastic, exclusively business class product from £999 return compared to an average of £3,000 from competitors, we will create a whole new breed of low fare luxury travel. 

“Looking forward, we will launch our second daily London Luton to New York Newark flight in July this year and we are currently investigating further long-haul route opportunities. By the end of the year, we hope to be operating a 3 times per day service to New York.”

Customers flying on Silverjet can enjoy 30 minute check-in from Silverjet’s exclusive, private terminal with dedicated security, boarding and lounge facilities.  On-board, customers will be able to sleep on a 6’3” long flat bed and enjoy maximum sleep time with no in-flight announcements, overhead lights or trolleys serving meals.  They can enjoy individually served gourmet meals, a digital in-flight entertainment system and, for Silverjet’s female customers, a ladies only loo.

Silverjet is the World’s first airline to become carbon neutral on all flights.  Included within ticket prices is a mandatory carbon offset contribution, giving customers the opportunity to reinvest “Carbon Points” into a number of climate friendly projects around the world. The scheme, set up in partnership with leading climate change specialists The CarbonNeutral Company has been developed in accordance with the CarbonNeutral protocol, the leading standard and quality mark for action on climate change.
