diytravel rolls out flight search has celebrated its first birthday by adding a comprehensive flight search and price comparison system to the site.

The new flight system searches 216 websites and more than 600 airlines.  Other UK based flight search websites are extremely limited in comparison with TravelSupermarket searching over 50 airlines and travel agents, and SkyScanner only searching budget airlines. users enter their requirements once to search low-cost airlines (including easyJet, Ryanair, BMI baby, Thomson Fly, XL, flybe, Jet2), scheduled airlines (including Virgin, British Airways, KLM, etc) and online travel agencies (Expedia, Opodo, ebookers, Travelocity and lots more). Results are ordered by price or by a rating based on the flight time, duration and price.

The flight comparison system is free to use and no service charges are added to the ticket price - users buy tickets directly from the airline at the airlines normal price.

Flights complement the existing diytravel accommodation booking service and community pages. Consumers now have a one-stop shop to book 15,000 hotels and apartments, read unbiased and uncut accommodation reviews, and book cheap flights.

“Flight search is a major addition to and will help many more customers take the DIY route to saving money on travel,” said Ben Jackson, Managing Director, diy travel Ltd.  “We have helped customers create ‘do it yourself’ holidays for over a year now and with the Civil Aviation Authority predicting that 18 million people will book DIY in 2007, sites like are ensuring more customers have access to the best available prices.”
