Press: SpiceJet hopes to break even

Indian low-cost airline SpiceJet is hoping to break even during the current financial year and may even post a profit if fuel and airport parking costs remain at current levels, the Business Standard reported. The newspaper cited the carrier’s Vice President for Sales and Planning Sanjay Kumar as saying the airline also expects revenue to more than double to INR11 billion in the year ending May 31, from INR4.81 billion in the previous financial year.

The report said Kumar expects the carrier to expand its fleet to boost revenue growth.
