Orient-express in distribution switch

Orient-Express Hotels has switched to the RedX Distribution Management System for their 35 properties located around the world. They have selected RedX to consolidate the management of all channels including GDS, IDS, direct calls to their multiple call centers and bookings coming from their own website. RedX connects their properties to thousands of travel agents and millions of consumers shopping online; properties are represented under the OE chain code.

RedX will enable all Orient-Express Hotels to make real-time rate and availability changes for any of their properties from any location with Internet access. This direct control allows the hotels to quickly react to market changes, and implement new promotions on the fly. Orient-Express will gain seamless connectivity to more electronic distribution channels than ever before, and will have the opportunity to strengthen their own branded website with multi-property search and guest profile capabilities.

Orient-Express Hotels, Trains and Cruises is a hotel and leisure company providing luxury travel experiences for discerning travelers in areas of outstanding cultural, historic or recreational interest. Founded in 1976 when the company acquired Hotel Cipriani in Venice, Orient-Express owns or has investments in 49 businesses: 39 highly individual hotels, two restaurants, six tourist trains and two river cruise operations and operates in 25 countries worldwide.

“We were impressed with the technology behind RedX. The web based system makes it easy to deploy for our multiple call centers which provides consistency and enables our agents to all use the same reservation tools,” said Brian Tickle, Director, eCommerce for Orient-Express. “It was also important for us that SynXis has the full support of Sabre Holdings behind them. This gives us the confidence that we will be partners well into the future.”

“Orient-Express is known in the industry for having extremely high standards for their properties and services,” said David Meltzer, Vice President of Sales for SynXis. “We are thrilled to be chosen by such a prestigious group and look forward to exceeding their expectations.”
